Nonciliated Simple Columnar Epithelium
NOTES:
This tissue is characteristic of most of the GI tract. In this section of the large intestine, the lumen is on the right. Notice the long, skinny cells, with nuclei at their base, lined up like dominoes in single file. The large clear spaces are goblet cells, which produce mucous for lubrication of the intestinal lining.
