Pancreas

NOTES:

In this low-power view of pancreatic tissue, pancreatic islets (islets of Langerhans) show up as pale pink, with more compact cells (black arrows). This is the endocrine portion of the gland, which secretes insulin and glucagon.

Clusters of acini make up the majority of tissue in this slide, and represent parts of the gland which secrete digestive enzymes (the exocrine portion of the pancreas).
