NOTES:

Here can be seen many white blood cells that normally do not appear in a peripheral blood smear.  Notice the resemblance of the cells to those seen in the bone marrow (previous slide).  These are blast forms, immature white blood cells multiplying out of control due to a malignancy of the bone marrow.
