History
| The Caymanians have a distinct history. The people of the island were self-sufficient in the early days including catching their own food, relying on their own doctors and building their own houses. The original houses are a historical site of the early life on the island. These houses were made out of wattle and daub, which consisted of mahogany, ironwood, thatch, and lime. These materaials were easily accessible on the islands. These are just some things that set apart the Cayman Islands as a country rich in both heritage and history. | |
