Christianity

The Christian religion began in Rome (and all over the world) during the 1st century. The reason Christianity became so popular was because it was origianl and acceptable to all people everywhere. This also comes from the testimony, love, and charity shown by Christians to the rest of the world.

Roman Catholicism

The Roman Catholic church is based in Rome. Roman Catholicism believes some of what the Bible says, but not all of it. They disagree with those who believe in "the Bible only, faith only, grace only, in Christ only, and to God only be the glory." The Roman Catholic church has many interesting traditions and are well known for their beautiful cathedrals.

Vatican Gardens

The Vatican is its own seperate country within Italy. where the Pope lives and where Roman Catholicism is based. Many Roman Catholics from around the world make pilgrimages to the Vatican each year. As you can see by the pictures below, it is very beautiful and ornate.

Most of the people in Italy are Roman Catholics by name only, which measn that they don't regularly go to church, but still call themselves Catholic. Also, in recent years, there had been a trend toward Jehovah's Witness conversions.

As you can see, Italy is very religious. Although they are religious, very few know the truth of a real relationship with Jesus Christ.
