South Africa is a country of much diversity. Known as the Rainbow Nation, South Africa has four major people groups. Read on to learn more about these groups.
| BLACKS Blacks are those who were natives of Africa at the time the Dutch immigrated. To this day, they are often mistreated due to the color of their skin. They make up 75.2% of the total population of South Africa. |
AFRIKAANS Afrikaans, which translated means "white Africans", are the decendants of the Dutch immagrants who came over in the mid-1600's. They make up about 13.6% of the population. |
INDIANS Indians are the third people group found in South Africa. They immigrated from India. They often live in areas exclusive to their people group, following their own cultural traditions. Indians make up only 2.6% of the population. |

| COLORED The final people group is composed of those who have been born from parents of a combination of the other people groups. Colored people make up 8.6% of the total population. |
