	Lewis and Clark- In 1803, President Thomas Jefferson commissioned an exploration to trace the Missouri River to its source and find a water route to the Pacific Ocean. Lewis and Clark headed west to find the Pacific Ocean. This link offers lots of information including journal entries and interactive maps of their journey.
