St. Lucia Day is on December 13. This day begins the Christmas celebration in Sweden. Legend says St. Lucia was a Christian woman who brought food each night to fellow Christians who were hiding underground. Because she traveled at night, she wore a ring of candles on her head so she could carry things in her hands and still see where she was going.
