Imagine you are the Captain of The Discovery making one of the first expeditions to the Antarctic. You are gathering together a crew and supplies. What would you take with you? Who would be on your crew? Why did you make those choices?

Make a list of crewmembers and supplies. Next, prepare a speech for the King (or Queen) to convince them of your needs. Choose a partner and act out the scene between you and the King.
