Important Information about 2008 Tax Documents

W-2

  • What is it for?
    Form W-2 reports employee income and taxes withheld during a calendar year (January 1 through December 31).
  • Who receives this form?
    Cedarville University must complete Form W-2 for each employee who received a salary, wage, or other compensation in 2008.
  • How will the form be sent?
    Faculty and staff will receive their W-2 through campus mail. Student workers enrolled for the spring term will receive their W-2 through campus mail. Non-enrolled students will receive their W-2 through U.S. mail to their recorded address.
  • When will the form be sent?
    All forms will be mailed by February 2, 2009. Forms were delivered to the Campus Post Office on January 27, 2009.

1099-Misc

  • What is it for?
    Form 1099-Misc reports non-employee compensation earned during the 2008 calendar year.
  • Who receives this form?
    Cedarville University must complete Form 1099-Misc to anyone who received compensation not paid through its payroll system.
  • How will the form be sent?
    Form 1099-Misc will be sent through U.S. mail to the same address used on the accounts payable check.
  • When will the form be sent?
    All forms will be mailed by February 2, 2009. Forms were delivered to the Campus Post Office on February 2, 2009.

1099-INT

  • What is it for?
    Form 1099-INT reports interest earned on a student's accounts during 2008.
  • Who receives this form?
    All students who received more than $10 PIC interest on their student account balance during 2008.
  • How will the form be sent?
    Form 1099-INT will be sent through U.S. mail to the student's recorded address if the FERPA privacy indicator has been removed by the student. (Removing the privacy indicator is not the same as giving permission to view student account information using CedarInfo.) Students who have not removed this privacy indicator will receive their 1099-INT through campus mail. Non-enrolled students will receive their 1099-INT through U.S. mail to their recorded address.
  • When will the form be sent?
    All forms will be mailed by February 2, 2009. Forms were delivered to the Campus Post Office on January 27, 2009.

1098-T

  • What is it for?
    Educational institutions are required to report qualified tuition, fees, scholarships, and grants using Form 1098-T.
  • Who receives this form?
    All students who were enrolled at Cedarville during 2008.
  • How will the form be sent?
    Form 1098-T will be sent through U.S. mail to the student's recorded address if the FERPA privacy indicator has been removed by the student.
