Off Campus Requests
Cedarville University is a residential campus and believes there is tremendous educational value in the residence life experience. As a result, about 80% of our student body lives on campus. Our off campus community includes: students who are living with their parents, married students, part time students (six credit hours or less), students who are 23 or older and students who have been granted permission from the Student Life Deans.
Each spring we are able to grant permission to about 225 upperclassman students (typically seniors) for the following academic year. Any student seeking permission to live off campus should complete an Off campus application in March. Our decisions for approval take into consideration: the student's year in school, demonstrated financial need, and any circumstances that make their situation unique. Most decisions are made by mid April for the following academic year. The off campus section of the Student handbook outlines the approval process.
Because we value the University mission and our testimony in the community, each students who lives off-campus is expected to live by University guidelines as outlined in the Student handbook.
Any questions about living off campus as a Cedarville student can be directed to the Dean of Students.
