What Sets Cedarville Apart?

Program Overview

Psychology Degree Highlights

Biblical — The motto of the department is “Psychology through a Biblical Worldview.” The lordship of Christ reigns over all subject matters in the academe, and psychology is no exception. The knowledge of our being human presides supremely with God. In the study of psychology, the truth of our human conditions and aspirations will be framed by the inerrant and infallible words of life in the Scripture.

Relational and Experiential — A hallmark of our educational process is the mentoring relationships we promote in the Department of Psychology. Faculty, staff, and fellow-students enjoy the fellowship we share as a body of Christ. We engage at a personal and professional level as we prepare students for the next phases of life beyond Cedarville.

What Can You Do With a Psychology Degree?

Many of our students advance into graduate studies leading to licensure and professional practices as psychologists, counselors, marriage and family therapists, social workers, and other licensing professions traditionally associated with an undergraduate degree in psychology. Other graduates have pursued graduate studies in Christian graduate schools and seminaries leading to full-time ministries as biblical counselors, youth ministers, and pastors.

Psychology graduates also find careers in correctional facilities, Christian organizations and agencies, churches, schools, community behavior and mental health centers, hospitals, community centers, social services/family resources, retail, human resources, public relations, businesses/corporations, psychological assessment clinics, animal assistance centers, sports psychology, education, missions, and the list goes on and on.

Specifically, our graduates have found employment upon graduation in business, criminal justice, human services, and medical/clinical settings.

Graduate and professional programs and employers welcome Cedarville University graduates each year. It is important to note that some professional career fields you may pursue require additional education, experience, and/or licensure beyond the completion of your Cedarville University undergraduate degree.
