Spring 2025 | Conference Schedule

  • 8–8:55 a.m. — Check-in
  • 9–10:20 a.m. — Roundtable #1 Exhale & Encourage: Roundtable discussions on Biggest Challenges & Successes
  • 10:20–10:30 a.m. — Coffee Break
  • 10:30–11:20 a.m. — Exhort/Equip: “A Theology of Emotion and Worship” - Dr. Josh Kira, Associate Professor of Philosophy and Theology. With the rapid increase in cases of anger, anxiety, and depression among school-age believers, it is incumbent upon youth leaders to understand how to counsel and teach concerning these areas. This session will show what is meant by the term "emotions", how they are distinct from "feelings", how emotions are affected by our thoughts and desires, and how they can be formed by our worship.
  • 11:20–11:30 a.m. — Break
  • 11:30–12:20 p.m. — Equip: God's Beautiful Design & Gender Identity Challenges - Pastor Case Seymour, Student Ministries Pastor, Spring Creek Church. God's created order establishes order for those who listen and learn to live in His will… His good, pleasing, and perfect will. Yet, as a culture, we have made many changes in what is considered male or female with LGBTQ+ & other groups influences. How do we navigate this landscape in life and ministry, especially student ministry? How to talk to kids about your topic. How to counsel and teaching.
  • 12:20–1:00 p.m. — Lunch
  • 1–1:50 p.m. — Reflections: What Would C.S. Lewis Say to Youth Workers?- Dr. Daniel DeWitt, Senior Fellow & Executive Director of the Center for Worldview & Culture at Southwest Baptist University - What would C.S. Lewis say to youth workers? That's a question for which we have a ready answer as C.S. Lewis once gave a talk on apologetics to youth workers at the end of WWII. Daniel DeWitt, author of "C.S. Lewis: The Writer Who Found Joy" applies Lewis's timely and timeless talk to today's issues facing leaders in youth ministry.
  • 1:50–2:00 p.m. — Break
  • 2–2:30 p.m. — Roundtable #2 Reflections & Applications from today's presentations; formulate specific questions. What was a major takeaway from any of the sessions? What tool can you add/apply to your ministry toolbox? Is there anything today that you disagreed with? What questions do you have for the speaker? After hearing from the speakers, is there anything you believe you need to change in your ministry?
  • 2:30–3 p.m. — Q & A with Speaker Panel (Kira, Seymour & DeWitt)
  • 3:05 p.m. — Conference ends

Bonus: Why not bring some students from your youth group with you? Our admissions team will provide a college preview day for them while you attend the conference.
