B.S. in Sport Medicine/M.A.T.* Acceleration Option

About the Planned B.S. in Sport Medicine/Master of Athletic Training* Accelerated Option

Cedarville University has offered a fully accredited B.A. in Athletic Training since 1994. The Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) has now mandated that all professional athletic training programs in the U.S. transition to an entry-level master's by 2025.

Cedarville University is actively pursuing this transition and will begin offering a Master of Athletic Training degree starting fall 2020, pending approval by the Ohio Department of HIgher Education (ODHE) and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).

Beginning fall 2019, you can choose to begin Cedarville’s B.S. in sport medicine program, trending toward the Master of Athletic Training. We have strategically designed the B.S. in sport medicine curriculum so the senior year is taken as part of the first year of the planned M.A.T. program. When you are admitted into the M.A.T. program, you are able to complete a B.S. in sport medicine, a Bible minor, and a Master of Athletic Training degree in just five years.

The M.A.T. is also available in a two-year stand-alone program for those who hold a bachelor’s degree with appropriate prerequisites.

*Pending approval by the Ohio Department of HIgher Education (ODHE) and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
