Studio Art at Cedarville
WELL EQUIPPED.The studio art major at Cedarville University graduates individuals who possess the breadth of a liberal arts education, the lifelong wealth of a Bible minor, and a focused body of work in traditional studio disciplines ranging from drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and ceramics.
Building on your God-given passion and abilities, the studio art degree from Cedarville will prepare you to professionally pursue a career in fields such as illustration, gallery curation, operating a private art studio, or working within a non-profit arts organization. Additionally, many students will continue on to advanced degrees such as art education, art therapy, or the Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) degree, which provide many more career possibilities.
A CREATIVE COMMUNITY.Studio art students routinely share their experiences and knowledge with a cross section of graphic designers, industrial designers, and theatre majors. This creative community of learners and makers is the core of who we are, not only as students but also as faculty members who continue to work, learn, and grow alongside students in small-class settings.
With a liberal arts foundation, high academic standards, and a University-wide dedication to thinking deeply and biblically, we are obviously not a typical “art school.” With small class sizes and professional, practicing teaching faculty who individually know and care for our students, we are obviously not your typical “state school,” either. We are intentionally and proudly different.
We are a creative community of artists out to shape our world … and we hope you’ll join us.
