Roles in Disease Management

NSG-2050

An introduction to the concepts of pathophysiology and disease management as they are used to provide nursing care to patients across the life span. Focus is on the use of a broad range of psychomotor skills required to intervene on behalf of clients with pathophysiologic imbalances in health. Students begin to develop the professional role of provider of care within the contexts of disease, ethics, diversity, evidence, personal values and critical reasoning both in the laboratory and clinical settings. Prerequisites: CHEM-1000 Principles of Chemistry; GBIO-2015 Human Anatomy and Physiology II; GBIO-2210 Principles of Microbiology; NSG-2000 Nursing Roles in Disease Prevention; or by permission of instructor.(Fee: $300)
