Nathanael Davis

Nathanael Davis, MES

STEM/Business Librarian; Asst. Professor of Library Science

Biography

Nathanael is an avid naturalist and educator, classically trained as a biologist and environmental scientist with study focus in botany and ecology. Most recently, he was employed as a faculty member of Northwest Indian College with the Laq'temish (Lummi) Nation reservation in Bellingham, WA. He served as the FYE - Natural Science Instructor of the Native Environmental Science Program for five years and as the Science Outreach Coordinator and Native Youth Pathways Educator/Coordinator for eight years. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Youth & Volunteer Programs Coordinator/Educator for the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest with the U.S. Forest Service & National Forest Foundation as an AmeriCorps Vista Fellow. He has also served as an undergraduate Adjunct Faculty/Lab Tech in Earth and Science at Taylor University during his graduate studies.

  • Why Cedarville?: Cedarville University is much more than an employer to me, it has been and continues to be one of the single most influential communities of my adult life. This is home for me. I was born and raised in Cedarville, where the University was a regular part of my daily life .... my family has been and still is employed by the University my first jobs were as a custodian, phone operator, and grounds maintenance technician. I met my wife here; I earned my first degree of higher education here; I found most of my lifelong friends and mentors here. In short, I am here to return the favor and play my part to positively influence the next generation of learners for the glory of God.
