Lawrence Pitzer

Biography

Mr. Pitzer has been playing the classical guitar since 1965. He began teaching beginner-level students in 1966 and college-level students in 1970. He also currently teaches at Wittenberg University. Previously, he taught at Wright State, Urbana, and Antioch Universities. He has also taught private students throughout this time. Mr. Pitzer also plays the Renaissance lute with an early music group, Wind in the Woods. He has performed recitals on the guitar and lute since 1966 at various universities and private venues. He has been at Cedarville since 1985.

Why I love teaching at CU

Teaching at CU gives me an opportunity to introduce students to the “original” way of playing the guitar which will give them a lifelong goal to strive for. I appreciate the mannerly behavior of, and level of dedication that the CU students show.
