Vineeta Rao

I am a P1 student, and I was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. Currently, I serve as Vice President of the pharmacy P1 class of 2019. I am also a member of APhA-ASP and a part of the pharmacy student organization RxConnections that seeks to unite the different classes within our pharmacy school. Right now I serve as the Tutoring Coordinator for RxConnections and am currently developing a program to provide PharmD students with tutoring help from upperclassmen. During breaks and holidays, I work as an intern at Meijer pharmacy. In the past I have also been a mentor and Bible study leader for a small group of girls through Cedarville’s Discipleship Ministries. I love getting to know new people, and each of these opportunities has given me an excellent way to connect with people and discover their strengths and what makes them unique.

Currently I am still discovering the world of opportunities within the profession of pharmacy, but so far I have loved my experience in community pharmacy and could see myself there in the future. I hope to be in an environment in which I can actively be a part of patients’ lives and health by providing counseling services for their medications and creating care plans for their treatment therapy.

Why Cedarville?

I love Cedarville because of its unique learning environment. During my time studying here, I have come to love learning more than I love grades. The program is rigorous, but my professors are so passionate about the profession of pharmacy that they instill a passion in me to care about what I am learning for the sake of my future patients rather than for the sake of grades or status. Additionally, my time here pursuing extracurricular activities and ministries has developed skills that shape me as a believer, a leader and a future pharmacist. Professors are always available and willing to help me out with difficult classes, and I have really enjoyed the chance just to get to know them and share my bits of my life with them.

  • Collecting, steeping, and drinking all types of tea
  • Biking with my siblings
  • Coffee dates with friends

Don't get too discouraged or overwhelmed by the number of options available! It may seem like every decision you make determines your future, but sometimes, with a little wisdom and good counsel, you just have to try out a path and be open to letting God either confirm your steps or redirect you. Either way, you will learn something invaluable from the experience that will help you in the future.
