Dr. Pereira received his postdoctoral training at the Yale School of Medicine. While at Yale, his research primarily focused on the biophysics behind the papilloma virus entry mechanism and their morphologies under various physical conditions. He also completed his teacher training at Cambridge University. Currently he is a reviewer for the Journal of Nanomedicine: Nanotechnology, Biology & Medicine. He is also a member of American Physical Society and the American Association of Physics Teachers. His research interests include nanotechnology and targeted nanomedicine; tumor targeting; physical oncology; pHLIP™ technology; viral entry mechanisms, morphology, viral peptides and VLPs; and physics and mathematics education. He has also been serving students and scholars in college campuses as a volunteer staff with Cru and Bridges International for more than 10 years.

Why Cedarville: Cedarville has a compelling vision, not only for this community, but the entire world. This is what initially drew me. I was looking to leave full-time research and become more engaged with students teaching and ministering. To my surprise I not only found a university where I could minister, but also one which would minister to me. I consider it a great privilege to serve in this Christ-Centered environment.
