Before coming to Cedarville in 2000, Dr. Mach taught United States History and American National Government at Mount Vernon Nazarene College for six years. His areas of interest include the political history of the 19th and 20th centuries with a focus on Ohio in the Gilded Age and Christian voter blocks in the last century. His published works include articles, book reviews, and “Gentleman George” Hunt Pendleton: Party Politics and Ideological Identity in Nineteenth Century America. Dr. Mach also serves as the Director of the Honors Program at Cedarville, and he spearheaded the university’s successful pursuit for reaccreditation from the Higher Learning Commission serving as Self-Study Coordinator.
