Biography

After 30 years in the public and private schools of Florida, Professor David Lawhead returns to his alma mater, Cedarville University, class of 1982. A student of Charles Ellington, professor Lawhead remembers fondly his experiences here, especially singing with the Kingsmen Quartet. He has been the featured Bass Soloist in Handel’s MESSIAH for Cedarville University and the Clearwater Christian College. He recently played the role of Melchior in the St. Petersburg College production of AMAHL AND THE NIGHT VISITORS. He has enjoyed working with several churches as music director in both the traditional and contemporary styles. Professor Lawhead teaches classes in music education and voice, sponsors our NAfME students and works with our student interns.
