Dr. Janet Neal serves as Assistant Professor of Nursing and has been at Cedarville University since 2008. She has an extensive background in nursing, with a specialty focus in behavioral health. She gained a broad base of experience in the first 20 years of her career while traveling with her active duty spouse, including medical surgical, pediatrics, maternity, orthopedics, school nursing, and public health.
Her passion is for behavioral health nursing, where she has served since 2004. She combined her nursing knowledge with nouthetic counseling in order to serve fellow church members and understand biblical interventions for mental health issues. She has also been active in the Association of Psychiatric Nurses and served on the Ohio Chapter board.
Her doctoral work focused on transitioning nurses employed by Ohio Department of Public Health from individual clinic care to care of populations.

Why I'm at Cedaville: In 2007, I was approached by two friends who do not know each other. Each felt the Lord convicting them to talk to me about working at Cedarville. One of those friends was an employee of Cedarville, but the other was not. Naturally, that got my attention and I prayed and felt the Lord directing me to apply. I most enjoy being able to teach behavioral health from a Christian worldview and the continual reminder from the Holy Spirit that teaching here is His work for me.
