Institutional Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (Institutional IPPE) in the second year of the professional curriculum is designed to provide opportunities for students to practice technical pharmacy skills in institutional settings and learn about pharmacy management as well as clinical and distributive functions. Students will demonstrate core practice skills: communication, calculations, ethics, medication safety, managing resources, wellness, health promotion, technology, informatics and critical thinking. Students in Institutional IPPE II will meet with an assigned preceptor for at least a four hour period each week for 14 weeks throughout the semester, totaling an estimate of 56 contact hours. Prerequisite: P2 in good standing.
