Thank you for choosing to be part of the Reading Endorsement program at Cedarville.
In addition to the exceptional faculty who provide your course instruction in an online environment, you also have been assigned a dedicated program advisor, who will help you successfully navigate the requirements of the Reading Endorsement program.
As an online student, you are involved in a less structured learning environment than you experienced as an undergraduate student. Online graduate students must be self-motivated and disciplined to successfully complete their courses.
We suggest that you approach your online courses as you would traditional on-campus courses. Please carefully review and follow the course syllabus to identify professor expectations, assignment instructions, and project deadlines.
As a busy professional and graduate student, you have competing priorities and multiple responsibilities. These eight-week Reading Endorsement courses are designed to provide instruction at a quick pace, and you are strongly encouraged to follow the pace of the course as it was designed. This will reduce your stress, maximize your learning, and help you avoid grade reductions due to late assignments.
As you progress through your courses, be sure to maintain communication with your course instructors. In the event of extenuating circumstances, you may be able to arrange for alternative deadlines.
Contact me with any questions or concerns. We want you to succeed in your studies, your professional development, and your ministry to the students and families you serve.
Advancing the Kingdom,
Ruth Sylvester, Ph.D.
