Theatre Camp

June 13-17, 2016

Enjoy a week exploring the world of theatre and immersing yourself in this energizing profession! You'll learn more about the different aspects of creativity involved in a life of professional theatre and theatre ministry. Through exciting activities and professional instruction, you'll be introduced to acting, directing, improvisation, and design (including costume, makeup, set, and lighting). As an image-bearer of God's creative design, you'll discover what it means to use your own creative gifts in performance, ministry, and worship.

The week includes attending a professional theatre production of The Lion King at the Schuster Center in Dayton, Ohio, and culminates in a performance for your family and friends on the final day of camp.

Theatre Camp is open to Christian students between the ages of 14 and 18.

Cost and Registration Details

The $435 registration fee includes all meals, housing, field trips, activities, supplies, and a camp shirt.

For the June 13-17 week, the final deadline for registration is June 6, 2016.

Check into residence halls between 3-5 p.m. on Monday. Camp concludes at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, unless indicated otherwise in the camp schedule. All campers must be picked up by 2:30 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to accommodate any early arrivals/late departures for any camp students. Please adjust your schedule accordingly.

What to Wear

Modest casual dress including blue jeans, shorts, and t-shirts are acceptable for camp activities. Shorts should be no shorter than halfway between the top of the knee and top of the thigh. Exposed midriff style shirts are not allowed.

For the Wednesday theatre performance, gentlemen should wear slacks and a button down shirt or polo and ladies should plan to wear a skirt and a nice top. Bring comfortable shoes as much walking will be done that afternoon.

Cedarville University Airport Transportation

Dayton – $45 roundtrip
Columbus – $80 roundtrip

Cedarville University provides shuttle service from Dayton and Columbus airports to pick up Academic Camp students at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The shuttles will drop off Academic Camp students at Dayton and Columbus airports on Friday at 3:00 p.m. For a shuttle service to Dayton, there is a $45.00 round-trip charge. For shuttle service to Columbus, there is a $80.00 round-trip charge.
