Ashley K. Fernandes, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Community Health and Pediatrics at Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. He received his MD from The Ohio State University, an MA in Philosophy from Johns Hopkins University, and a PhD in Bioethics from Georgetown University. He is the Chairman of the Dayton Children’s Medical Center Ethics Committee, a Regional Director of the Catholic Medical Association, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. In 2010 he was awarded the Professor of the Year award at the School of Medicine, and the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine award by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. His intellectual interests include philosophical and clinical bioethics; pediatric ethics; and medical ethics education.
