Dr. Cheryl Irish, currently a professor for graduate programs in the School of Educational Leadership at Indiana Wesleyan University, holds a doctorate in Special Education. Serving as Director of Children’s Ministries at her church, she focuses on providing rich worship and learning experiences for young children and children with special needs. Besides volunteering in American schools, she travels overseas each spring to work with third-culture kids (TCKs) in international schools. Third-culture kids belong to a third culture – one that is a unique blend of cultures from home and abroad. TCKs often struggle academically and socially, especially when returning to schools in America. Dr. Irish has been a frequent conference presenter and has contributed a number of articles to professional publications.
