Speakers

Ken Ham

The president, CEO, and founder of Answers in Genesis-US and the highly acclaimed Creation Museum, Ken Ham is one of the most in-demand Christian speakers in North America. Ken is the author of many books on Genesis, including the eye-opening book Already Gone, co-authored by renowned researcher Britt Beemer on why so many young people have left the church, the best-selling The Lie: Evolution, and a number of children’s books (Dinosaurs of Eden, D is for Dinosaur, A is for Adam, etc.). Other recent co-authored books include One Race, One Blood and How Could a Loving God …?, and he co-authored the provocative book Already Compromised about Christian colleges and how they treat the authority of the Bible. Ken’s emphasis is on the relevance and authority of the book of Genesis to the life of the average Christian, and how compromise on Genesis has opened a dangerous door regarding how the culture and church view biblical authority.

Dr. Thomas White

Thomas White became the 10th president of Cedarville University on July 1, 2013. Serving in a variety of leadership roles and responsibilities, White has more than a decade of administrative, teaching, and research experience and combines strong leadership with a pastoral heart for ministry while standing for biblical truth. From June 2006 to June 2013, he served as Vice President for Student Services and Communications at Southwestern Biblical Theological Seminary. White also served as Associate Professor of Systematic Theology at Southwestern Seminary. He has been active in research, writing, and contributing to the academy. He is married to Joy Martin White and together they have two children, Rachel and Samuel.

Dr. Georgia Purdom received her PhD in molecular genetics from Ohio State University. Her professional accomplishments include the winning of a variety of honors, research presentations at national conferences, and the completion of six years of teaching at Mt. Vernon Nazarene University (Ohio), where she served as a professor of biology.

Dr. Terry Mortenson

Dr. Terry Mortenson earned an MDiv (Trinity Evangelical Divinity School) and a PhD in history of geology (Coventry University) and has lectured on the creation-evolution controversy in 25 countries since the late 1970s. Before joining AiG, he served for 26 years in university campus ministry in the US and Eastern Europe with Campus Crusade for Christ and has written many articles and books, including The Great Turning Point and Coming to Grips with Genesis.

Dr. John Whitmore

Before coming to Cedarville University in 1991, Dr. Whitmore taught high school science and math and spent a summer working for the United States Geological Survey. Dr. Whitmore serves on the board of the Creation Geology Society and is a member of the Creation Research Society and the Geological Society of America (GSA). His publications include many GSA abstracts, journal articles, book chapters, popular articles, and an adventure book titled The Great Alaskan Dinosaur Adventure.
