Cedarville's 32-credit hour program — nearly half of which can be completed in conjunction with Cedarville's online M.Ed. — is designed for educators who hold a master's degree in education, have at least two years of successful K–12 teaching experience as well as a current teaching license, and who desire to become school principals or building-level administrators. The program fulfills the requirements for a state of Ohio principal’s license. Teachers working full-time will be able to complete the program through part-time enrollment.
Each student cohort will begin courses in the summer and progress through the program supporting each other and learning best practices of building-level administration in a collaborative way.
The capstone experience of the Principal Licensure program will be a one-semester internship. Students will work with a principal who will serve as a mentor and facilitator.
This experience will allow students to experience the day-to-day situations and problems that face today’s school administrator.
