ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Work Rooms Management

  • Design and conduct shop-safety orientations; maintain safe work conditions and comply with established safety policies, practices, procedures and requirements; maintain safety equipment inventory.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized shop
  • Coordinate, schedule and post open-shop hours
  • Maintain all modest housekeeping chores of the 3-D studio spaces
  • Maintain and supervise students to assure the overall cleanliness and safety of the studio spaces including all 3-D and ceramics studios
  • Assist in firing all kilns, including loading, unloading, cleaning, maintaining and monitoring. Will remain on call during the duration of any firing
  • Maintain all the shop’s glazes, clays, slips, and all other shop material as needed
  • Store and dispose of toxic materials according to established guidelines
  • Clean vacuums, dust collectors and other ventilation equipment
  • Assist with student workers as needed

Tool and Equipment Supervision

  • Manage hand-tool checkout system
  • Support and train faculty and students in the safe use and care of all tools and equipment
  • Maintain equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and coordinate repairs as needed
  • Maintain equipment and/or file all work orders to the proper people to maintain all 3-D facilities and studio spaces in good working order

Teaching Assistant:

  • Serve as a teaching assistant if/as needed
  • Assist 3-D Studio Art Professor in the preparation or demonstration of specialized instructional materials and procedures.
  • Assist in training students in the proper and safe use of tools and equipment
  • Authorize and document that students have been properly trained to operate tools and equipment

General Duties

  • Assist the 3-D Studio Art Professor as it pertains to the shop or studios
  • Be able to drive a truck and van, make deliveries and pick up art and supplies as needed
  • Review and monitor budget and accounts as needed
  • Assist with researching and purchasing materials and equipment for the 3-D and ceramic areas
  • Maintain all inventory at proper levels and quantities
  • Assist in researching student opportunities that pertain to the visual arts

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: B.S., B.A., or B.F.A. in Art or related field.
  • Demonstrate professional proficiency in the use of sculpture and ceramic shop equipment that pertains to but is not limited to wood, metal, and clay
  • Demonstrate organizational skills to maintain an efficient, safe and clean studio environment

REQUIRED MENTAL/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Ability to professionally communicate to students on a personal level and in classroom situations

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Sustain and grow the annual giving program, specifically raising support for Cedarville Fund, academics and athletics. Create, implement, and evaluate strategies to ensure maximum growth in annual giving as measured by growth in giving, growth in number of donors, and retention rates for both donors and gifts.
Oversee the solicitation, stewardship, retention, and growth of President’s Society memberships ($1,000-$10,000 annually), with initial goal of sustaining 1,000 members. This includes managing a portfolio of assigned annual fund leadership donors.
Supervise and administer solicitation initiatives including direct mail, e-marketing, Phonathon, and fundraising events. Integrate annual fund strategies into University or Division events as directed (e.g., Homecoming/Parents Weekend, Farmers Night, etc.). Coordinate projects with appropriate University personnel.
Increase and maintain overall alumni giving rate. Results measured against ranking indicators for regional colleges in the Midwest. Coordinate alumni giving strategies with Executive Director of Alumni & Parent Relations.
Recommend annual donors who are strong prospects for major gifts and planned giving.
Be a significant contributor to the Advancement team and provide insight into the Division’s strategies and plans. Also, advising the VP of Advancement, AVP of Development, and other University personnel on matters related to annual donors.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of experience and education required.  Preferred fields of study include business, communications, management, or marketing.  Cedarville graduate preferred.
Ability to synthesize large amounts of information, evaluation options, and implement effective actions steps to accomplish objectives.
Ability to manage complex tasks simultaneously, coordinate the roles of various participants in projects, set priorities and schedules, and meet deadlines with a minimum of supervision.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to facilitate mutual understanding and work effectively with a wide variety of people

2. Provide oversight for all aspects of the application process.
a. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of all applications for admission to the university.
b. Oversee the creation and maintenance of all communications related to the application process including system emails and application completion drip campaigns.
c. Manage the Decision Release process including the timely and accurate release of all decisions, the associated communications with decision release to include decision release email notifications, updating the application status page and if desired, hard copy accept letters. 
d. Train and supervise file reviewers to assure that all admission policies and procedures are properly implemented.
e. Oversee notification of scholarships and financial aid increases to admitted students, providing timely and accurate award notifications.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:

2. At least four years’ experience in admissions, student services, computer systems, management and/or marketing.

Cedarville University is seeking a Manager of Automotive and Equipment to oversee all mechanics, student workers and work performed in the automotive bays. This is a full-time, twelve-month, exempt position that reports to the Associate Vice President for Operations. This position has been designated as emergency essential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee and perform preventive maintenance on all University owned vehicles and equipment.
  • Oversee and perform necessary repairs on all University owned vehicles and equipment.
  • Direct employees in Automotive department in daily duties  
  • Prioritize and schedule any repairs
  • Locate, order and purchase parts and supplies
  • Keep records of all vehicles and equipment
  • Oversee the servicing and cleaning of all University fleet vehicles
  • Communicate with faculty, staff, students and visitors concerning university vehicles and use of vehicles.
  • Control use of shop area and tools
  • Operate and maintain welding and sheet metal shop
  • Evaluate current vehicles for replacement.
  • Coordinate and document all building generator maintenance and repair logs.
  • Maintain all vehicle compliance records required by government agencies, i.e. EPA, PUCO, etc.
  • Serve as “Class C” operator for diesel (above-ground) and gasoline (under-ground) storage tanks.  Maintain Veeder Root system – reading, checks, filter replacement, etc.
  • Support Associate VP of Finance and Associate VP of Operations in purchasing and maintaining records on University-owned vehicles.
  • Maintain University’s passenger buses – maintenance, licensing and inspections, etc.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve the University campus in a friendly, helpful professional manner
  • Transporting vehicles to and from repair facilities.
  • Utilities - locations and installations
  • Operate backhoe and dump truck as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum five (7) years of experience as an auto mechanic with at least three (3) currently valid ASE certifications.
  • Commercial driver license – passenger classification preferred
  • ASE certified mechanic
  • Thorough understanding of gasoline, electric, hydraulic and diesel motors or engines.
  • General knowledge of power and hand operated tools used in performing above work (i.e. gas torches, pneumatic tools, electronic testing equipment, hoists and jack  stands, etc.)
  • Must possess a valid Ohio driver license
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

REQUIRED MENTAL/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Work requires the application of a variety of procedures, policies, and/or precedents. Applications may be direct or gained from interpretation of technical data and/or adapting standard methods to fit variations in existing conditions.
  • Moderate physical effort; requires occasional lifting, carrying or otherwise moving of objects (up to 75 pounds) and regular movement of lighter objects (up to 35 pounds). Also requires the ability to walk or stand on various surfaces.

Pickup/Delivery functions:

  • Pick up (load), transport and deliver incoming and outgoing USPS mail from/to the Cedarville Village Post Office and Xenia Post Office.
  • Keep accurate benchmarking records of bags, trays, and tubs received in the University Post Office.
  • Load and unload items to be delivered from the delivery truck to and from the Postal and Print Services processing area.
  • Transport and deliver intercampus mail tubs and packages to appropriate departments within the University campus Monday through Friday.
  • Sort, process and distribute all mail and packages.
  • Accurate operation of mail meter equipment to apply postage to outgoing mail and packages.
  • Operate equipment used in automation mailing process to backup automation clerk position.
  • Use mail processing software for metering, database cleansing, and USPS form submission. 
  • Assist customers with mail/package processes from retrieval to applying proper postage.
  • Answer phones and respond to emails.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn the intercampus mail delivery route, the village Post Office pick-up and delivery processes, and the Xenia Post Office responsibilities for standard mail.
  • Ability to work alongside multiple employees through various processes of mail operations.

  • Ability to learn the processes involved in determining correct postage for outgoing mail as well as prepping those items to be mailed.
