Cedarville University Forensics Team Wins National Title

Cedarville, Ohio—Cedarville University’s forensics team won the Individual Events championship at the recent National Christian College Forensic Invitational held at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, Calif. In addition to winning the team championship, the Cedarville squad posted two overall championships. Tim Cochrell, a junior from Creston, Ohio, was named National Varsity Champion. Mark Awabdy, a freshman from Cedarville, Ohio, was named National Novice Champion. Dr. David Robey, professor of communication arts and founder of the Cedarville forensics program, said, “This is a great victory for the Cedarville forensics team. Coach Matt Moore and his team have done very well. As far as the world of Christian forensic competition in individual events goes, Cedarville University is the top.”
