Cedarville, Ohio—The Cedarville University department of communication arts will present the drama Husbandry Thursday, November 8 - Saturday, November 10 and Thursday, November 15 - Saturday November 17 in the Stevens Student Center Theater. Performances begin at 8 p.m. each night, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, November 10. Husbandry takes the audience to a peaceful farming community in Kentucky, where the traditional family farm is struggling to survive amidst farm policies, uncertain economic conditions, and the exodus of the next generation of farmers to city jobs. Les and Dee Halstead are faced with either selling out before they go under physically and financially or convincing their son Harry and his wife to move back home and take over the family business. While Harry’s "duty" is clear to his mother, it’s not so obvious to him. The play opens and closes with a short documentary film, and the audience is invited to take part in "talk-back" discussions after the November 8 and 16 performances. Husbandry is directed by Mischelle L. McIntosh, instructor of communication arts. Tickets are $11 for adults and $7 for students. Receive a $1 discount by purchasing with cash or check.
