Cedarville, Ohio - Cedarville University will present the comedy Lettice and Lovage Oct. 11 and Oct. 16-18 in the Stevens Student Center Theater on the Cedarville campus. Performances begin at 8 p.m. each night with a 2 p.m. matinee on Oct 11. Lettice Duffet, an expert on Elizabethan life, is an enthusiast of history and the theatre in contemporary England. A tour guide at the dreary Fustian House, Duffet discovers that tour guests prefer dramatic narrative over passionless facts. The growing theatricality and romance of her tours draw large crowds of tourists along with the wrath of the Royal Preservation Trust. Lotte Schon, an inspector from the Trust, is not impressed or entertained by Duffet's charades and fires her. Yet, gradually Schon becomes fascinated by Duffet's worldview, and the two women forge an alliance to awaken their fellow citizens to the dreariness and danger of modern life. The play is directed by David Robey, professor of communication arts and director of theatre. Tickets are $11 for adults and $7 for students; there is a $1 discount for cash sales. Tickets go on sale Monday, Sept. 22 at 8 a.m. Call 1-800-860-7625 for more information. -30-
