Radio Talk Show Host to Speak at Cedarville

Cedarville, Ohio—Dawson McAllister, host of the call-in radio program for teenagers "Dawson McAllister Live!" will speak at Cedarville University on Thursday, Sept. 18. The program begins at 10 a.m. in the Jeremiah Chapel of the Dixon Ministry Center on the Cedarville campus. In January 1991, McAllister began broadcasting "Dawson McAllister Live!" on 13 radio stations, giving teenagers a chance to share their problems and receive counseling and prayer. The show now reaches an estimated 6 million teens a year and is heard on more than 225 radio stations nationwide. (The program airs locally on WFCJ 93.7 FM from 9 p.m. - 10 p.m. on Sundays.) In 1994, the National Religious Broadcasters Association honored "Dawson McAllister Live!" as Talk Show of the Year. The Dawson McAllister Association also offers callers the HopeLine (1-800-394-HOPE) — an off-air opportunity to speak with trained staff who are on call seven hours a day, seven days a week. More than a million calls have been placed to the HopeLine since its inception.
