Russian Pianist to Perform as Part of Springfield Rising Stars Series

Cedarville, Ohio—Russian pianist Vassily Primakov will perform at Cedarville University on Sunday, Nov. 9 as part of the Springfield Arts Council Rising Stars Series. The concert will begin at 3 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Dixon Ministry Center on the Cedarville campus. Born in Moscow in 1979, Primakov entered Moscow`s Central Special Music School at the age of eleven. He came to New York to study at The Juilliard School at age 17, where he won the 2001 Juilliard William Petschek Piano Recital Award. Primakov earned a bachelor`s degree from Juilliard in 2002 and is currently working toward a master`s degree. He also won first prize in the 2002 Young Concert Artists International Auditions. "The Plain Dealer" (Cleveland) said of him, "Capturing each change of mood in the 'Chopin Preludes,' he entered the heart of the music and poured out its message to an enthralled crowd."
