Springfield Couple Commands Jazz Performance

Cedarville, Ohio—Springfield couple Jim O`Sullivan and Dr. Laila Kteily-O`Sullivan will lead an evening of jazz music on Friday, Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. in the Stevens Student Center Theater on the Cedarville campus. Kteily-O`Sullivan, a jazz vocalist, and O`Sullivan, a percussionist specializing in jazz, will be backed up by the Cedarville University Jazz Singers, Cedarville University Jazz Singers rhythm section, and guest artists on bass, piano, and guitar. The University Jazz Singers, directed by Kteily-O`Sullivan, will also perform, and instrumental jazz numbers will be presented. Kteily-O`Sullivan is an associate professor of music theory at Cedarville University and is the director of music theory-composition programs. She holds a B.M. from North Texas State University and a M.M. and Ph.D. from the University of North Texas. O`Sullivan is an adjunct professor of percussion at Cedarville University. He directs the University Jazz Singers rhythm section and co-directs the Cedarville Jazz Band. O`Sullivan attended the University of North Texas and studied under drum set great Ed Soph.
