Bible Translator to Speak in Chapel

by Public Relations Office

Cedarville, Ohio—Marilyn Laszlo, member of Wycliffe Bible Translators and the Laszlo Mission League, will speak at Cedarville University on Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 26-27. Her messages will begin at 10 a.m. each day in the Jeremiah Chapel of the Dixon Ministry Center. Laszlo spent 25 years in the jungle of Papua New Guinea, where she and other missionaries created an alphabet out of the local people`s unwritten language, taught the villagers to read and write, and translated the Bible. Laszlo also performed medical work and trained the villagers to operate a local school, store, and clinic. Laszlo`s book, "Mission Possible," tells the story of her years in Papua New Guinea. She has also teamed with Elizabeth Maddrey and Linda Ellen Perry to write the children`s book "A is for Airstrip," which teaches the English alphabet. Laszlo`s lectures are free and open to the public. For more information, call the University public relations office at 937-766-7808. Information about Laszlo Mission League is available at -30-
