Cedarville, Ohio—The CDR Radio Network (The PATH" 90.3 FM in Dayton/Springfield), a community-supported media ministry on the campus of Cedarville University in Cedarville, will celebrate 42 years of broadcasting during the non-commercial network`s annual Ingathering 2004 fund drive October 19-22. Each fall, the network opens up the phone lines to invite listener support. This year`s goal is $830,000 for all nine network affiliated stations. According to General Manager Paul Gathany, the event provides for network operational expenses such as announcer salaries, broadcasting equipment, and programming fees. "We are thankful for the generosity of so many in this community," said Gathany. The theme of the four-day event is "All Things are Possible," focusing on the theme of faith. The station is offering patriotic window decals to encourage listeners to pray for soldiers in Iraq and their families. Ingathering 2004 will kick off with a 12-hour Praise and Prayer Broadcast on Tuesday, Oct. 19. Listeners may call in to share prayer requests on a variety of issues including soldiers involved in the war on terror. Each hour will be devoted to different topics, such as answered prayers, salvation stories, and the honoring of local pastors. The final hour will be devoted to how Christian radio has impacted listeners` lives. Wednesday, Oct. 20 through Friday, Oct. 22 will be devoted to raising the necessary funds to cover the network`s operational expenses for the next 12 months. Wayne Pederson, general manager of WMBI radio in Chicago, will serve as the co-host for Ingathering 2004 along with Jon Fugler, general manager of K-Life Radio of San Luis Obispo, Calif.
