Cedarville University Ranked in Regional Top Tier

by Public Relations Office

Cedarville, Ohio—The editors of "U.S. News & World Report" have ranked Cedarville University in the top tier of regional comprehensive colleges for the fourth consecutive year. Prior to the magazine changing its rating scheme in 2001, Cedarville had been listed in the "liberal arts colleges" category. Factors included in the magazine`s evaluations included admissions selectivity and student/faculty ratio. The annual rankings are due to appear in the magazine's August 30 issue, due to hit newsstands Monday. The rankings are also available at USnews.com, the magazine`s Web site. Cedarville University was ranked at or near the top of the region in retention of first-year students, entering students standardized test scores, and for the percentage of faculty considered full-time. "We are extremely pleased by this positive, independent evaluation of the University`s quality and value," said Dr. Bill Brown, Cedarville`s president. "Our mission is to equip our students for lives of excellence by offering an education consistent with biblical truth. Our goal is to provide not just an education, but an overall experience that combines challenging academics with stimulating character development programs. This combination prepares our students to engage their culture with both the heart and mind of Jesus Christ," he said. "This integrative effort is what we call the "Cedarville Experience," and it is what makes a Cedarville education distinctive." -30-
