Donation Drive Underway for Hurricane Victims

Cedarville, Ohio—Cedarville University`s Christian Nurses Association chapter, Social Work Club, and Student Government Association have joined with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to set up a Miami Valley donation drive for hurricane victims. A truck will be at Cedarville University`s Stevens Student Center on Tuesday, Sept. 28 between 10 a.m. and noon to pick up donated items for Pensacola, Fla. Donations should be dropped off by Monday, Sept. 27 at one of the following locations: Cedarville University Student Government Association Office in the Stevens Student Center; Wayne High School; or at the Kroger grocery stores at Dayton-Xenia Rd. in Beavercreek, Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd. in Fairborn, Huber Heights, Bechtle Rd. in Springfield, Vandalia, or Xenia. Acceptable items (no clothing, please) are: Canned Stew Canned Meat Canned Vegetables Canned Fruits Soups Peanut Butter and Jelly Cereal Red Beans Beans and Rice Canned Chili Peppers Spanish Flour Canned Milk and Soy Milk Sodas, Gator Aid Juices Coffee Breakfast bars Coolers Flashlights Batteries Hand Cleaner Dust Masks Sun Screen Insect Repellent Wasp or Hornet Spray Plastic Sheeting (6 ml) Tarps Huber Heights resident Rhonda Traylor, an administrative assistant for the department of nursing at Cedarville University, has been instrumental in arranging the drive. Traylor explained, "I was in Hurricane Andrew 12 years ago, and I know the people from the Miami Valley really came through for us. Now it`s my turn to try to give back."
