Paige Patterson to Speak at Cedarville University

Cedarville, Ohio—Dr. Paige Patterson, president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS) in Fort Worth, Texas, will speak at Cedarville University on Thursday, Mar. 25. Patterson will speak at 10 a.m. in the Jeremiah Chapel of Cedarville University`s Dixon Ministry Center. Patterson assumed the presidency of SWBTS in August 2003. Previously, he had served as president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, N.C., for 11 years. A native Texan, Patterson began preaching at 14 and was ordained at 16. He went on to receive a B.A. from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, and Th.M. and Th.D. degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. In his many years of ministry, Patterson has preached in revivals, crusades, and mission projects throughout the United States and around the world, visiting more than 85 countries. He has served as a pastor in Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas and has rendered service to Southern Baptists on association, state, and national levels, including serving as president of the 16 million-member Southern Baptist Convention from 1998 to 2000. Patterson currently serves on the Cedarville University Board of Trustees. Patterson's message is free and open to the public.
