Snowflake Project to Benefit African Village

by Public Relations Office

Cedarville, Ohio—The Miami Valley Ohio Chapter of Women of Vision (WOV) wants to make a Christmas wish come true for an African village this year. That`s why they are raising funds through the "Snowflake Project" — a project to provide basic needs like clean water and health care for the village of Fisheni in Zambia. In Fisheni, life expectancy is 30.5 years. Poverty, disease, and hunger are daily threats. Money raised through the Snowflake Project will help Fisheni build community cornerstones of clean water, education, food, health care, and economic development. Dr. Susan Warner, co-chair of the Miami Valley WOV chapter, explained, "As a thank you for your contribution of $20 or more, you can select one of the lovely crocheted snowflakes from the Christmas tree located in Cedarville University`s Stevens Student Center. These snowflakes were hand-made by women in Kosovo specifically for our Snowflake Project." Donations may be made through Thursday, Dec. 31.
