Life-Size Graphic Design

by Public Relations Office - Cedarville, OH

Graphic designer Jon C. Lund will present his work and discuss the good and the bad of the graphic design and illustration business on Tuesday, Oct. 17. The presentation is open to all Cedarville University graphic design and studio art majors and will take place at 4 p.m. in the University’s Alford Auditorium.

Starting with an almost life-size painting of a dragster in the hall of King Elementary School, Lund has carved out a nearly stable career producing poster-style art for a variety of clients, from Disney to Ghirardelli chocolate.

After graduating from the University of Akron in 1981, he spent his early career as a graphic designer for local ad agencies, working on his airbrush illustration style on the side. In 1990 he placed an ad in a national publication that attracted clients from Texas to Minnesota. In 1996 he was first drawn to the idea of painting without paint, and he started his first computer illustrations using Adobe® Illustrator® and Photoshop®. Now all his work is done digitally and sent to clients via e-mail.
