Orchestra Concert to Feature Competition Winners

Cedarville, Ohio-Cedarville University’s orchestra will present a variety of compositions during their concert on Tuesday, Apr. 25 at 7 p.m. in the Jeremiah Chapel of the University’s Dixon Ministry Center. The 50-member orchestra will feature the selections of Leonore Overture by Beethoven, Samson and Delilah by Saint-Saëns, and The Moldau by Smetana.

In addition to the orchestra’s performance, the University’s 2006 Concerto Competition winners will be featured. Pianist Sara Craig (freshman from Telford, Pa.) will perform along with trumpeter Emmett Robinson (senior from Greenwich, Ohio) and vocalist Conrad Bear (senior from Sugarcreek, Ohio).

The orchestra is co-directed by Centerville resident Charles Pagnard and Cincinnati resident Jun Kim. Pagnard is principal trumpet player for the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and professor of music at Cedarville University. Kim, a doctoral candidate at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, is assistant professor of music at Cedarville University.
