Lori A. Greenawalt '84, has been recognized for her business and public service accomplishments.

A partner in KPMG LLP’s Philadelphia office, Greenawalt has been selected by Philadelphia Business Journal and the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) as one of its 30 “Women of Distinction” for 2007 for her “professional excellence and community involvement.”

In addition, the American Woman’s Society of CPAs (AWSCPA) has named Greenawalt the 2007 recipient of its 2007 Public Service Award for her “significant contribution of time and talent to public service outside the accounting profession.”

Greenawalt joined KPMG five years ago and at the time was the only female external audit partner in the Philadelphia office. She now runs KPMG’s Internal Audit, Regulatory and Compliance Service practice in Philadelphia and recently launched KPMG’s Contract Compliance Services practice in the Mid-Atlantic region. In 2005, she received KPMG’s highest award for volunteerism, the Chairman’s National Volunteerism Award.

She is also a founding leader of the Philadelphia office of KPMG Network of Women (KNOW), an organization designed to help retain and advance KPMG women. Because of her extensive work with KNOW, Greenawalt was nominated earlier this year to KPMG’s Women’s Advisory Board, which was formed in 2004 to advise KPMG’s chairman on issues regarding the advancement of women at the firm. She will serve a two-year term and is currently the co-chair of the Women in Leadership subcommittee.

A resident of Haddonfield, N.J., Greenawalt has been an active volunteer in the Philadelphia area for many years. She is on the board of the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center in Philadelphia, teaches Sunday School to seventh and eighth-graders in Philadelphia and has organized food drives for The Neighborhood Center in Camden, N.J. She also volunteers internationally, having made four trips to remote parts of Peru with Medical Ministries International (MMI), helping medical professionals set up clinics and treat patients.
