Cedarville, Ohio-Each year, Cedarville University students gather with dozens of missionaries in an effort to focus their faith beyond themselves, and every time they walk away determined to love beyond borders. This year’s Cedarville University Missions Conference promises more of the same-challenging attendees to make a difference in the world and practice the art of self-sacrifice.
Carrying the theme “Reachable,” the conference will run for three days, with 10 a.m. sessions and 7:30 p.m. sessions. Morning speakers include Dr. Joel Mathai of Christar and Marilyn Lazlo of the Lazlo Mission League. The evening sessions will be lead by keynote speaker Steve Richardson of the Pioneers.
Richardson began his life in the mission field, raised among the cannibalistic Sawi tribe in the jungles of Indonesia. This experience prompted his father to write the book “Peace Child” and sparked a personal desire in Richardson to pursue cross-cultural mission work. He continued to foster his passion during his four years at Columbia International University, where he met his wife and earned his degree in 1984. Richardson joined Pioneers ministries in 1985. In 1999, he was named CEO of Pioneers, a ministry with over 1,100 members in 71 countries.
The conference will also include 25 additional seminars during the afternoon of all conference days as well as after the evening session on Wednesday. The conference is free and open to the public.
The conference can also be heard on CDR Radio, The PATH® (90.3 FM locally), at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. as well as online at www.ThePath.fm. CDR Radio, The PATH®, is a community-supported media ministry of Cedarville University.
