Cedarville, Ohio—If Saturday mornings are your time to sleep in or be lazy, how about a change of pace? Get out of bed, put on your shoes, and roll over to Cedarville University.
The Ohio area ministry of Joni and Friends, a disability outreach of Joni Eareckson Tada, will sponsor a Walk ’n Roll marathon on Saturday, Sept. 27, at Cedarville University that is open to the general public.
Athletes and non-athletes alike can walk, run or roll around the Doden Field House track at a comfortable speed. Participants are required to obtain sponsors from friends, family - and even strangers - and bring their earnings with them to the race. Joni and Friends will use the funds to meet the practical, emotional and spiritual needs of those affected by disability.
After the marathon, stay to watch a basketball game with the Moraine Minutemen and the Ohio Rolling Hoopstars, both wheelchair basketball teams and members of the Western Ohio Wheelchair Sports Association. The Cedarville University men’s and women’s basketball teams will also compete in wheelchair basketball.
Games and face painting will be provided for children. No RSVP is required, and the events are located inside.
Walk ’n Roll is a fun opportunity for individuals, families and church groups to financially support Joni and Friends ministry.
