Christian songwriter, author, and speaker David M. Edwards will present a Songwriting Seminar at Cedarville University on April 8 at 7 p.m. in the Dixon Ministry Center, Room 103. The seminar is free and open to the public.
Edwards’ vast resume includes roles as a worship leader, pastor, Christian song reviewer, speaker, author and award-winning songwriter. He has received awards for several of his songs, including the 2007 Praise Award from “Worship Leader Magazine” for “Holy Rain.” Edwards is currently adjunct professor of worship at Regent University and the managing editor of “Worship Leader Magazine.”
Margaret Becker, Christian music artist, says about Edwards, “There are rare writers who manage to marry word and melody with soul and spirit, which leaves behind the presence of God. David M. Edwards is that kind of writer.”
During the seminar, Edwards will review and critique songs from aspiring songwriters as he discusses the criteria Christian publishers look for in new worship songs. Aspiring songwriters and church musicians are invited to attend this seminar.
