As a Seminary Professor of Theology, Church History and the English Bible, John's messages reflect the background of the Scripture from the ancient biblical world, the history of the church and the daily life in far corners of the planet. In 1998 a new venture called Discover the Book Ministries was launched to provide electronic copies of Pastor John's audio, video, and text studies free of charge to pastors, missionaries, and other believers. Since then, this ministry has grown to serve saints in all 50 states and more than 145 lands around the world, as well as through daily radio on a growing number of radio stations in the USA, Europe and the Caribbean. Dr. Barnett also serves as senior pastor of Calvary Bible Church in Kalamazoo, MI.
Dr. Barnett will be accompanied by Duane Crumb, Rob Chestnut, and Dave Drullinger as guest speakers during the morning chapels.
The conference begins Tuesday, January 11. Services are daily Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Each afternoon there will be seminars presented by the missionary representatives. Other settings will include an ice cream social Tuesday evening, visits to classes, dorm devotions, and conversations at display tables and in the cafeteria.
The purpose of the Missions Conference is to remind us, as a university, of the needs in the world. The greatest need is to hear the gospel clearly and to see the love of Christ demonstrated, in a culturally relevant manner.
